If you are looking for bustling nightlife and extensive water sports then head from your apartment, villa or holiday townhouse and head to Benidorm, just 25km up the coast. The hugely popular town of Calpe is just south of Altea, so there are plenty of options for a more bustling and less peaceful days out from your Altea holiday property.
The surrounding villages of Altea are defiantly worth exploring Alfaz del Pi, Finestrat, La Nuncia and Villajoyosa. There are some great shops, markets and crafts available, especially in La Nucia, not to mention local delicacies and restaurants to be found.

Things to do in Altea, Costa Blanca
The Church of Nuestra Senora del Consuelo is Altes’s most famous landmark with its striking blue roof. It is also the highest point in Altea, so an excellent landmark to get your bearings from your holiday rental villa, townhouse or apartment in Altea. The harbour is where much of the activity in Altea occurs, as this is not only the start of Altea’s beach, but a working fishing harbour too. This picturesque place, which is an understatement, is a fusion of the traditional and contemporary used by fishermen and luxury yachts alike.
Altea beach is over 5km long, and is divided into three separate sections, from Cap Negret in the north to Cap Blanc in the south. The beaches of Altea are not the fine sand beaches that are synonymous with the Costa Blanca, but do offer a peaceful alternative when you rent a holiday townhouse, villa or apartment in Altea.
There is no shortage of golf courses available to holidaymakers staying in an Altea holiday rental property. Oliva, Elche, Chiva, El Saler and San Juan Beach are all in easy driving distance from your holiday apartment, villa or townhouse all have magnificent 18-hole courses offering views over the sea and to Sierra de Bernia Mountains.
There is a huge range of activities in Altea, literally something for everyone. Tennis, golf, windsurfing, scuba diving football, fishing, sailing, walking and horse riding are all available from local facilities.
There are also a number of annual fiestas to enjoy from your Altea holiday villa, apartment or townhouse. June until September is the main fiesta season, but there are also events in December and January.
