Mutxamel

If you want to stay close to your villa, why not spend a day at the   Bonalba Golf Resort and Spa which is located on the edge of Mutxamel. The resort has an 18 hole golf course, which I am told is not only fair but at the same time testing, be ready for an exciting time. Once you have finished your enjoyable day on the links, prepare yourself for a visit to the magnificent spa as it has been designed for not only the relaxation of the body but also that of the mind. Here you will soon forget all the bad shots only to remember the good ones that you can take to the course on your next visit.

There are a number of other land based sports in which you can participate to round off your holiday. The surrounding countryside of the Sierra de Bonalba, lends itself to mountain biking, horse riding and hiking. There are a number of facilities located here to make your choice that much more interesting and enjoyable.

Don't forget that you are only 4 km away from the beaches of San Juan and El Campello where you can spend a leisurely day in the crystal clear blue warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Apart from swimming you can enjoy many other activities available such as deep sea fishing, jet skiing, sailing, scuba diving, and windsurfing to name but a few. Tired of the sun and sea, then Benidorm is approx 20 minutes away on the motorway where there are many attractions including the Terra Mitica and Terra Natura theme parks also there is a huge water amusement park called Aqualandia and Mundomar which is a marine & exotic animal park with daily Dolphin shows.

Just when you think it can't get any better, you return to your holiday villa to find a fiesta in progress. Mutxamel celebrates many of these and the biggest of the year is the the Moors and Christians festival. The streets of Mutxamel are transformed by the spectacular parades and the enactment of past combats. This fiesta is held in honour of their patron saint ''The Virgin del Loreto'' for the miracle in 1597 that is believed to have saved the population from a serious flood.

Also near Mutxamel and good for a day out are many historical towns to visit including Murcia, Orihuela, Elche and not forgetting Alicante. This city is often overlooked but is a lovely place to spend a day shopping or just take the time to set at one of the seafront bars or restaurants and watch the world go by as the sun sets over Mediterranean.

The Aerodrome Mutxamel is located close to your choice of holiday villas making it a great choice as it cuts down on travel time to and from the airport. You can rent a car at the airport as you will find it is necessary to have one just to get around. If you like plane spotting where else can you find a better place than here. There is not only commercial   aeroplanes but an array of private ones as well that you can enjoy as they take off and land.
