Of course there are also department stores, markets, & an abundance of more authentic local stores selling local goods & souvenirs. A good place to start a shopping trip in Tarragona is around the Rambla Nova area, & the pedestrianised Calle Major & Calle Mendez-Nunez.
One thing worth mentioning about shopping in Tarragona is the traditional opening hours of its shops. Although the largest stores will tend to open from 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday, the rest of the city conforms to the customary closing for siesta. As such the best times for shopping in Tarragona are from 9am-1.30pm & 5pm-8pm, with many outlets closed or closing early on a Sunday.
