During the fiesta farmers, horses, carts and mules make three town circuits, it is believed that the blessings are carried out on the third circuit. The spirit of Festiveness is said to pervade the air as the townsfolk perform the ritual dressed in their best costumes and all will be in high spirits.

The Fiesta of Santa Tecla is held in Tarragona on 23rd September and lasts for a fortnight, the fiesta brings giants, music, fire and popular traditions. People line the streets and squares of Tarragona with the traditional parade slowly making its way past them, the parade consists of big-head carnival figures and characters who dance to music played on traditional instruments. One of the most popular events during the fiesta is the Correfoc (fire running). People run and jump over the characters dressed as devils and dragons, carrying fire.

The area of Salou holds several fiestas throughout the year, one of the most popular being Fiesta de San Juan (Feast of St. John). This is held around the 23rd June and originates from Pagan tradition and is a celebration of summer solstice.
