The beach resort of   La Manga is located on a unique strip of land that separates the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean. The beaches of Mar Menor are safe for children to swim in as there is a gentle slope in the depth of the warm water. Lorca is a town of two parts, first and foremost it still retains its rich heritage but on the modern side it has a new commercial centre.
