For nights out, the lively Villamartin plaza is a 10 minute walk away. The Plaza offers something for everyone...it has an elegant bustling atmosphere in the evenings which is hard to beat anywhere in Europe. It is full of excellent restaurants offering all types of exotic food, lively bars for everyones taste including kareoke, night clubs that stay open into the early hours of the morning and traditional pubs for the more laid back drinker.
All in all this is an area with something for everyone and will satisfy everyones expectations for evening entertainment
The Plaza also opens during the daytime with numerous coffee houses, supermarkets, banks and shops.
The bustling fishing town of Torrevieja is a 15 minute drive away and has all kinds of entertainment one would expect from an up and coming destination. This includes Casinos, Ten Pin Bowling, Water Parks, Cinemas, Outdoor Karting circuits, Huge Shopping Malls, Lovely Promenade areas and more Blue Flag beaches.
This area is one of the healthiest areas in the world with huge salt lakes surrounding the town.

The local area of mainly British residents is residential, so there are no high-rise hotels to cloud the clear blue skies, like much of this part of Spain, is currently being developed albeit not next to our Calle (Street). Our villa is a pleasant 10-minute walk by the golf course to Villamartin Plaza (which comes alive at night) , and has a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars and a well-stocked supermarket. A little closer by are 3 local bar /restaurants. The clear warm sea of the Med is an easy 10 min drive down the hill where you will find some lovely beaches and pleasant walks as well as other restaurants and bars. A little further a field (20 mins) is the market town of Torrevieja, which is a medium sized town with many shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs and a good market where many bargains can be bought. This place is great for water sports and the international marina with the capacity for 1500 boats is always busy and it is great to sit with a cold beer and watch life go by!BEACHES Within a short drive of the house, the beaches are plentiful and vary from vast expanses of sand to small pebble coves. Many of the safe white sandy beaches are proud to display the prestigious Blue Flag, which is awarded by the EU for cleanliness and safety. The beaches along the coastline close to Villamartin are La Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, and Campoamor. La Zenia is the closest to the house,only a few minutes drive.
Calla Captaen is next to La Zenia and is a very safe beach to swim or snorkel. . You can take a boat ride to the island of Tabarca where scuba diving is a pleasure, or sail along the coast. Fishing trips and boat rides are available from the port of Torrevieja. During the day you can enjoy the sea and sun along the magnificent beaches, while at night time you can enjoy a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants along the seafront. Regardless of your choice of beach you will not be disappointed.

Our property is very large beautifully appointed 2 bedroomed Ground Floor Apartment with a terrace, 100m2 private garden, and a large communal swimming pool. All rooms have large high speed fans which give great cooling. The property is large enough to accommodate 6 people easily and has previously accommodated more. It is located within a 2 minute drive to 3 quality golf courses including Villamartin which hosted the 1994 Spanish Open
