Sa Riera is located in CataloniaSpain on the Costa Brava and still remains a sleepy little tranquil fishing village. It lies in a secluded small bay close to the towns of Palafrugell and Begur and is reachable by car is Pals. For a nice relaxing walk along the cliff tops you can visit the village of Platja de Pals which lies next to Sa Riera.
As mentioned this is a fishing village and could not be more evident as you stroll down the beach in the evening where all of the fishing boats are lined up in readiness for their next trip into the Mediterranean. This is also a place where larger boats can drop anchor for the night while on a visit to the nautical hire shop located here. For the disabled there is a wooden walkway that runs almost to the water's edge. When you are standing at the water's edge, look back at the wooded cliff and in the woods lie some really beautiful houses, all of this makes for a fantastic view.
As we mentioned before Sa Riera has a beautiful sandy beach but what we didn't say is that it is sheltered by the surrounding cliffs making it a peaceful place for swimming and snorkeling especially around the craggy rocks. There are a number of really good seafood restaurants, cafe's and bars, located here and the seafood couldn't be any fresher. The Catalonia cuisine on offer here is some of the best you will ever try.
