If you are looking for a sleepy little fishing village that hasn't been touched by time and with only a few tourist then come to Sa Tuna on the Costa Brava in Catalonia. It has one of the best looking sheltered cove's in the area and is fringed by pine trees. This is probably one of the best kept secrets of all of the villages located on the Costa Brava. When you arrive don't look for a English newspaper as there isn't any, and no tat shops selling souvenirs for those unfortunate friends back home. There are no noisy bars belting out the latest tunes or football scores. This is just a tranquil little village where you can relax and let the world pass you by.
If you can make your way to the beach, take a beach chair with you as the beach is made up of pebbles and shingle making towel just a bit uncomfortable. When you are on the beach take notice of all of the fishing boats lined up and ready for there next attack on the fishing population, as a result you can expect no less than the best and freshest seafood to be served in the restaurants located here.
If you forgot any of your personal needs for your holiday, there is a small general store close to the beach that has the basic provisions. Remember why you came here in the first place, this is a step back in time before there were too many tourist so get out and take a slow relaxing walk in either direction. On your walk you may come to another protected cove where you will find a small bar that serves excellent food but more to the point some of the best seafood paella that you have ever put in your mouth. If you can manage it, there is good snorkeling and swimming in the little coves where the water is crystal clear and placid.
