CASA PEQUENA, a quality self-catering accommodation of unrivalled value for money. Pretty detached cottage style villa, ideal for two travellers - can accommodate two extra guests using living-room sofa-bed. A home from home the perfect place to relax, chill in the gardens or soak up the rugged beauty of ANDALUCIA - great touring base.

This traditional agricultural area with expanding tourist industry - still mainly Spanish - remains largely unspoilt by mass development. Growing sub-tropical fruits and vegetables often in large Invernaderos (plastic greenhouses) a vital part of the local economy. Fishing and tourism, secondary.

The Casita, shares interesting sub-tropical gardens with the owners traditional farmhouse Cortijo Nuevo and EL APARTAMENTO. The latter is also available for rentals (Ref: 1787) so possible to rent both homes allowing groups of 4/8 travellers maximum. Extra 5% Discount (use code number 9).

The Cortijo is nicely designed so each property has privacy and ample outdoor space. As well as many shared areas various patios and benches, BBQs & fountains to relax by.
In season pick citrus fruits and avocados for breakfast. Lounge by the Swimming Pool (shared only with any occupants of El Apartamento) - perfect spot to chill out after busy day sightseeing or relaxing on any number of unspolit beaches on this Granada Coastline.
During the day or after sunset rustle up a meal in the Summer kitchen by the swimming pool. Fully equipped for 6 travellers charcoal bbq, gas paellero, honesty fridge, sink, ample seating and sun loungers - vine covered terrace.

Area Information

Ideal holiday destination for those travellers seeking a slower pace of life for a week or two in authentic Andalucia. MOTRIL is found on the lush coastal plain 70kms South from Granada, midway between Malaga and Almeria . Area known for the market garden growing greenhouses and terraced hillsides, producing all manner of Sub-tropical fruits & vegetables - agriculture is as important as tourism to the local economy. The area probably appeals more to the independent traveller, looking to escape the many developments and 'British ghettos' found nearby on the Costa del Sol! This area still remains Spanish - ideal touring base for Southern Andalucia or for bargain property searches! Excellent Winter climate and interesting holiday destination - possible to ski one day, beach the next! Perfect for couples or working trips - Wi-Fi network.


Puntalón 0.5kms has a small church, 3 simple bars and a restaurant. However, for everyday needs best to use Motril 3kms a thriving Spanish market town with excellent shops, numerous restaurants/bars, cinema/theatre and some nightlife. Also a large municipal swimming pool complex, plus family aqua-park in Almuñecar. The owner lives in the Cortijo, along with 2 well behaved & friendly dogs. And is happy to advise on activities/excursions in the area, comprehensive house book & selection of maps/guide books available. The Cortijo is both a convenient base for touring Andalucia and a relaxing place to unwind. CAR ESSENTIAL.


Cortijo Nuevo, can be enjoyed differently through each season. WINTER is short, December-February, often Sunny & warm by day - cooler in the evenings. Snow & frosts never experienced on the coast, temperature rarely drops below 55°f. Most chance of rain in November - possible to eat in the garden, even at Christmas! SPRING late February - May. Temperature starts to warm, feels like British Summer - abundance of wild flowers/blossom on hillsides, evenings are light. SUMMER June - September, hot & dry - NO rain. Although as the Cortijo is at sea level & very near to the coast, benefits from any breeze passing! Adopt Spanish hours, siesta in the afternoon - dine at sunset & stay up late by the pool! AUTUMN October/Nov, rather like British Summer - can still be warm, cooler in the evenings. Excellent time for touring, visiting historical Malaga, Granada, Sevilla, Ronda avoiding the Summer traffic!

The Casita can sleep 4 people if the double sofa-bed in the living room is used. However, it is probably more suitable for a single person or couple as the only shower room/WC is en suite to the double bedroom. Cosy Woodburning stove, electric radiators & duvets for Winter use, cooling fans for Summer. Air Conditioning unit in the Bedroom - May/October. Cleaning is done for your arrival, beds made & welcome food/wine pack in the fridge! The Casita benefits from a wonderful garden, fully landscaped with many plants & shrubs. In season enjoy; avocados, citrus fruits, pears & small herb patch by the BBQ. The gardens & pool area are illuminated at night & enjoyed into the early hours - ideal place to chill/dine under the stars after a busy day sightseeing! Great hospitality, both at Patrick but also the city, on the various small bars and other places.
I will certainly go there again and again ...

Recently spent 10 days at Casa Pequeña and had an excellent time. It was exactly what we were looking for - an attractive casita with a lovely pool and beautiful gardens - and a great location for trips out to the nearby Alpujjaras and Granada. However, we were mainly looking for a peaceful place to relax by the pool for a week and this is exactly what we found. The nearby town of Motril is pretty ordinary but well equipped, with two supermarkets. The immediate surroundings of agricultural polytunnels are eclipsed by stunning views up to the mountains and out to sea. We were particularly pleased with the accommodation – very charming inside with private roof terrace and space in the garden (and a good barbeque). Patrick, the owner, was very helpful and approachable – but also unobtrusive. We enjoyed the company of Ben and Jerry – who were particularly attentive at mealtimes! We will definitely consider renting the property again when we return to the area in the future.

Estubimos el fin de semana pasado durante dos días, fue corto pero muy intenso. Casa Pequeña es ideal para aquellos que buscan evadirse de lo cotidiano, un lugar mágico en un enclave paisajístico inmejorable y con vistas al mar.

Disfrutamos de inolvidables días y dinivas noches a la luz de las velas.

Fabuloso jardín que hace de este complejo un lugar casi paradisíaco en el que no faltan fuentes, ornamentos fantásticos que lo llenan de vida y multitud de escenarios en los que olvidarse del tiempo.

En definitiva, INMEJORABLE.

Recomiendo este lugar a todos aquellos seres amantes de lo oriental, que busquen un lugar alejado de abrumadoras energías donde encontrarse a sí mismos,
relajarse y disfrutar.
