The pool has a bbq and stone table & is completely private and not overlooked. The villa is in a very quiet location and all on one level inside with ramped access to all terraces and the pool. A covered dining terrace overlooks the pool and the wooded hillside and is perfect for family lunches or lingering evening meals. There is a rear terrace which catches early sunshine. Barcelona and Girona are 1.5 hrs and 40 mins away by car, there are 6 golf courses within a short drive. Many historical and cultural sites are in easy reach and birdwatching, walking, cycling and skiing are all catered for nearby. Boules court, air conditioning, central heating, dishwasher, washing machine,open fire, satellite TV.

35 Mins from Girona airport and 1.5 hrs from Barcelona airport Calonge is centrally situated in the heart of the northern Costa Brava area. Its proximity to resorts like Palamos, Platja D'aro, Lafranc, Begur, St Feliuex and St Antoni make it an ideal base for a beach holiday. There are many secluded coves that are ideal for snorkelling. Lying slightly inland amongst the Gavarres hills, the surounding ever-green countryside make a convenient starting point for trips inland to many 'picture postcard' locations like Girona, Barcelona and smaller Catalan towns of Monells, Pals and Peratalada. 6 Golf courses are within easy reach. Walks through the hillside forests and along the well marked coastal paths are nearby. Ski resorts are only 2.5 Hrs drive away. The town is proud of it's many music festivals held throughout the summer with open air concerts in the square of the medieval castle. Has great potential to explore and make your holiday special. Picturesque in-land towns and villages that offer great cultural and gastronomic delights. Nearby are sea-side resorts that have chic marinas, restaurants and fabulous shopping opportunities. There are rustic fishing towns with beach-side bars and restaraunts and clean, family-friendly, sandy beaches. You'll find some great walking through the Gavarres cork oak forest directly from the villa or in the lower Pyrenees through the volcanic region of Garrotxa amongst terraced farmland and ancient beech forests. The vibrant Catalan cities of Girona and Barcelona are nearby. Girona is the quieter and smaller but is packed with great sight -seeing and cultural highlights such as the impressive, ancient cathedral and preserved Jewish quarter. Barcelona has everything you would expect from a truly 'world' city and more. It is a 1 hr 40 min drive away or there is a good train service from Caldes de Malvella, some 15 Kms away.

Immediate area

Calonge is a relatively quiet area that benefits from being slightly in-land, it is well provided for with shops and supermarkets. There are also a couple of restaurants and bars in the town. Try a visit to the weekly market on any Thursday, you can walk on a quiet footpath into town from the villa . The town makes an ideal base from which to explore the region or a quiet centre to just stay and relax around the quiet pool in complete privacy. St Antoni De Calonge is only 4 km away, where you find a more beach resort feel. The long golden sands make a good family friendly day out with cafes, restaurants and shops alongside a pedestrianised promenade. There are also many small beaches and coves nearby. Palamos is 5 min further on, it is a working port with a long sandy beach. Nearby Platja D'daro has the buzz of an opulent Mediterranean resort with exclusive designer shops and a busy nightlife, weekends are especially busy here as many Barcelonians use the area as weekend retreat.

Benefting from an elevated position on a quiet urbanisation the villa makes an ideal retreat in which to relax. The mature plants and trees in the garden provide a cool green environment around the pool area. The Viscondado de Cabanyes estate is an exclusive private estate that nestles amongst the ever-green cork oak forrests of the Gavarres hills giving privacy whilst being in easy reach of the town and connecting roads. The villa enjoys day long sun-shine but the garden planting ensures that shade can be sought at any time of the day if required. With our local agents on hand to meet and show you round and cleaners on hand to carryout a mid-stay clean and laundry service if your stay is longer than one week means your holiday will be hassle free and all that you need to worry about is your sun-tan.

* Change-over day is Saturday, however this may be negotiated during low season. We ask for a 25% non returnable deposit to secure your booking with the remaining 75% payable 8 weeks prior to your stay. We strongly suggest that you take out your own insurances as the 25% deposit cannot be refunded in instances of cancellation.
We can provide directions from Barcelona or Girona airports and arrange for our agents to meet you and show you around the villa.
We ask that you access the property after 4PM on the day of your arrival and leave prior 10AM on departure in order to ensure the villa is clean and ready for you and subsequent guests.
All laundry is provided and if you stay more than one week a change of linen and a clean of the villa, in the middle of your stay, is included in the rental.
We ask for a 200 euro deposit to be payed on your arrival that will be refunded after your stay with deductions made for any damages.

* We can provide extra photgraphs of the villa if you are interested and please feel free to ring me if you have any queries about the villa or the area. Travel arrangemnts from Barcelona airport or Girona airports are fairly straight forward. In the villa there is a comprehensive guide to the area (in English only at present sorry,we are working on translations for forth-coming years). The guide give details and background information on many nearby towns and beaches plus ideas for excursions further afield.

The Villa is in a tranquil location and is well equipped for your holiday with a large swimming pool, BBQ, a boules court, washing machine, 6 sunloungers we also provide pool towels for use around the pool. There is all you would expect to see in your kitchen; a dishwasher, microwave, toaster and sandwich toaster. A separate utility room houses the washing machine and ironing board. The property benefits from air conditioning and central heating and has a wood burning fire-place. There is a dining room as well as two terraces on which to enjoy your meals. The larger of the two has a large table that seats six, is lit and overlooks the pool and gardens. The rear terrace is ideal for the morning sun and has a smaller table. The air-conditioned bedrooms all have built in wardrobe space and dressing tables the master bedroom has its own lit balcony over looking the garden with a two seat table and chairs for a relaxing morning coffee or a nightcap. All linen and towels are provided.

Clean and excellent villa. Very well equipped. Superb tranquil location within 10 mins drive of several picturesque villages and beaches etc. Fantastic area to visit. Would definitely recommend. 1 year old grandaughter loved it too!

We had a fantastic week at No 34A. The villa is in a superb location, walking distance to the village and a 20 minute drive to anything and everything that is worth seeing in the area. We would recommend the Hotel Trias in Palamos, great service, fab food and unbelievable prices. Their Sister restaurant Salsa is also worth a visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lazy days around the pool and BBQ fish suppers. It's great to have a totally secluded and peaceful garden. We'll be back.

Dear John just a few lines to thankyou for the use of your villa.We were so pleased to find everything lived up to our expectations.The surrounding area provided us with so much to do we could have stayed another 2 weeks!It was a joy exploring the attractions of the local area and be able to laze away sunny afternoons by the beatiful pool,or sitting on the shady terrace.Our evenings were spent either dining on the terrace or dining out at one of the many resturants nearby.It was reassuring to have the services of an agent should we have needed it,but to be honest everthing went perfectly.We hope to return soon!
