Nestling between the mountains and the sea, the wonderful climate of this specific area boasts an average yearly temperature of 18 °C. The town hall in the Plaza de la Constitucion was inaugurated in 1991. Setting it apart from its coastal neighbours of Calpe and further south, Benidorm, the town council passed laws limiting the height of buildings and protecting the natural pines that cover the sides of the valley leading to the coastal part of the municipality, Moraira. 
During a visit to Teulada why not explore the different plazas on offer as each one is unique in itself. The first is a relaxing walk down a narrow street to the Plaza de la Constitucion (Constitution Square). Located here is the new Town Hall inaugurated in 1991. From here follow Canonge Valles Street to the Plaza de la Creu (Cross Square). Close to here, during medieval times, the village was fortified by a wall surrounding it. Located in its wall is The Sea Doorway which was closed to protect the village people during an attack by barbary pirates. The last plaza is reached via Dalt Street where you will find The Church Square. 
January 5th: The Three Kings- this is usually a day set aside for the children, as they gather in the village square and await the arrival of the Three Kings. There are an assortment of presents passed out to the children at this time by the Three Kings.
When you think of the Costa Blanca and all you can see is concrete towers and mass tourism at its worse, then think again. This may be true of the southern end of the Costa Blanca but with a 90 minute drive north from Alicante you enter a very different world. Here the high rises give way to smart villas and the countryside changes from brown to lush green consisting of orange, almond and lemon groves. 
Once you are past the concrete and the plains you will start your journey into the foothills that are covered with orange groves and ancient olive trees. At this point you look up, and framed by the azure blue of both the sea and the sky is your objective, Bernia. The mountain, which divides the two Marinas. It is covered in ancient pathways which at one time were climbed by bandits of old and Royalist soldiers. Once you view this mountain your emotions are automatically captured........ 
Arenal beach is made up of a wide arc of white sand with a promenade behind it where you can find various types of shops, some selling handmade arts and crafts as well as bars and restaurants. You can spend the evening here as some bars offer live music until the early hours. The area is well known for the sand artists and street entertainers who work along the beach during the summer. There are a number of historical sites located here from a Roman settlement to the Fontana Castle, built in 1424 and destroyed by the English during the Peninsular War in the early 19th century. 
Penon de Ifach is a rather large lump of white rock that appears to rise up out of the Mediterranean sea some 332 meters in height and extends its arm into the sea about 35 hectares. Located near Calpe it is the symbol for the Costa Blanca and the smallest natural park in Spain. You can either stand and look at it or you can climb it. 
If you are looking for a fiesta or a festival then Benitachell is the place to be as the town has it's fair share of them. On January 5th all the children in the village gather in the square where gifts are passed out to them during the Procession of the Three Kings. During Easter a cross is carried through out the village followed by people dressed in black holding candles, this is a very somber occasion. 
Javea is a great holiday destination as there is always plenty to see and do. The town and its pretty marina are also full of wonderful places to eat, drink and generally watch the world go by. The town also has a wide range of regular events and fiestas so the is usually something going on that you can get involved in. Popular Tags
