Fuerteventura, like all of the other Canary Island, was formed through volcanic activity many millions of years ago. This resulted in the landscape we see today which has been weathered over the years to make it one of the most beautiful places to venture over. There are 125 miles of beaches, reported to be the best in the world, which owe their existence to the sand from the Sahara being deposited over thousands of years on the island. This is all understandable because Morocco is only 60 miles away and the winds can be extremely strong at times.
